      • How to repair your tyre after a puncture
      • 1 - Start by spreading out the surface to be repaired. Once the patch has been deflated, stand on a flat surface.

- Choose a patch that is larger than the hole. Allow at least 3 cm more all around. The piece must not have sharp corners. If it is rectangular, round the corners with scissors. Trace the circumference of the patch with a pencil.

- Degrease the surface to be glued with methylthylcetone.

- In the same way, degrease the patch to ensure a good setting of the glue.

- Traces of glue are hard to remove. To avoid a laborious cleaning session, the gluing area is marked out with masking tape. This step is not compulsory, but the cleanliness of the final work is greatly enhanced.

- Glue the patch with the special PVC glue. Use a brush for this. Make sure you apply the glue around the edges. Do not apply a thick layer. You will need at least three coats before installing the patch.

- Like the patch, the damaged flange is glued with the brush. Go over the edges well to distribute the glue all around.

- You need 3 thin layers of glue (too thick, they will be hard to smooth afterwards). Between each layer, before applying the next layer, make sure that the glue is no longer sticking! The finger should not stick to the surface. Allow about 10 minutes between coats, depending on temperature and humidity.

- Once the third layer of glue has been applied and after waiting about 10 minutes for it to stop sticking to the finger, install the patch with precision. The glue sets instantly. You cannot stick and unstick the patch several times. Have a good look

- Stamp the area with a rounded tool such as the handle of a spoon for example. Smooth from the centre to the edges to remove air bubbles. Finally, insist on the edges.

- The masking tape can then be removed.

- Stamp the edge again, which may have come off slightly if the adhesive has been under the piece.

- With methyl ethyl ketone, clean the perimeter. Be careful not to wet too much, otherwise the acetone may penetrate under the piece and unstick it.
